For the purpose of sports betting, when would a baseball game be final?
A baseball game does not have to be completed for bets to be valid. The following guidelines are used to settle wagers: a moneyline wager will be official after five full innings. (Four and a half innings in case the home team wins).
After 9 innings Total (or Runline) wagers are official. If the home team is ahead, the game will last for 8 1/2 innings.. In the event that a baseball game is called before nine innings have been played, all Total and Runline bets on the game will be declared as No Action. If a game is NOT finished and runs for more than eight innings (i.e. stopped, rain delay, or lack of light)Wagers can be settled with rule 3.
After 9 or more innings and the game isn’t finished For example, a game may be shortened due to rain, suspension, or darkness.Bets placed on the total runs scored and the runline will still see action.
If a game is suspended, the score as of the last finished inning will be the offical score for all bets, unless the score is changed by the home team within their part of the inning. If that is the case, wagers will be settled based on the score when the game was suspended.
Any bets placed on games that are suspended or postponed do not carry over to the rescheduled time.
