NFL picks will make a play on the New York Giants -3 points against the Dallas Cowboys from pro football action on New Year’s Day Sunday.
The Cowboys and Giants begin this key NFC east battle in the late game in New York at 4:15PM Eastern Time and FOX has the television broadcast to most of the nation outside of the Seattle and Arizona markets.

The Tony Romo hand injury has to be a concerned for Dallas as you cannot simulate a game situation during practice.
Another issue here is the Dallas Cowboys run game has not supported Romo since DeMarco Murray went down with a season ending injury.
These are the type of spots the Cowboys have recently failed in. This is a winner take all scenario for the NFC east title and will play like a playoff game.
Look for the New York Giants to bring maximum pressure in this spot and to test this Dallas offensive line.
Crowd noise will be a factor as well as we could see some jittery offensive linemen for Dallas move prior to the snap.
The Cowboys are way too none one dimensional these day’s and without the run game to silence the crowd Dallas will be up against it.
Eli Manning and the Giants are more proven in this playoff type of environment here.
New York Giants gets the win and cover.
NFL picks plays New York Giants -3 point.

NFL picks is playing on the Detroit Lions -1 point against the Oakland Raiders from pro football play on Sunday.
The Lions and Raiders will kick off in the late afternoon game on Sunday at 4PM Eastern Time and you can watch it on a regional basis over FOX television.

With the loss of impact running back Darren McFadden the Raiders offense has struggled mightily.
Turnovers have begun to pile up for the Raiders as Carson Palmer has not been sharp throwing the football and has been making poor decisions.
One of Palmer’s weapons in the passing game has been missing in Jacoby Ford who has been out with a foot injury.
Defensively the Raiders have unraveled as the team is showing those ugly performances we have seen in recent years in run defense.
Teams are running all over the Raiders lately.
Detroit has many weapons offensively to exploit Oakland.
We saw the Lions head out west and put up 45 points on Denver.
Detroit is the better team right now and get the cover in this one.
NFL picks plays Detroit Lions -1 point.

NFL picks is going to select the San Diego Chargers -3 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars from Monday night Football.
The Chargers and Jaguars will begin from San Diego at 8:30PM Eastern Time and you can watch this NFL game live nationally over ESPN Television.

Turnover creates turmoil.
Long time Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio was fired following the loss to Houston last week.
With his long tenure in the organization it created a bit of turmoil in the preparation this week for Jacksonville.
Also factor how awful Jacksonville’s offense is as the team averages just 12 points a game behind a shaky starting quarterback in Blaine Gabbert.
Gabbert got benched last week and was named as starter so he enters with shaky confidence here.
With seven losses no more margin for error for San Diego. They must win five straight games to put themselves in position for an AFC west crown.
It is not impossible if this team turns up the intensity and plays to their ability.
NFL Picks plays San Diego Chargers -3 points.

NFL picks is making a play on the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints to play over the total of 51 points.
The Giants and Saints will begin Monday night football from New Orleans at 8:35PM Eastern Time and you can watch this NFL football game live nationally over ESPN television.

The New Orleans Saints have been an explosive offense on their home field as the team averages 39 points per game.
Look for Drew Brees to distribute the ball masterfully to his receiving corps as he keeps this New York Giants team off balance.
Tight end Jimmy Graham has been an effective target for Brees in the passing game and he simply moves the chains by taking advantage of his huge frame.
Look for Darren Sproles speed out of the backfield and on special team returns to set up big plays for New Orleans.
We saw the Giants defense give up 27 points at San Francisco in their last road game.
This Saints team is more dynamic offensively.
Look for Victor Cruz and company to make plays for Eli Manning and the New York Giants game.
These offenses come in high octane on Monday night leading to an over the total.
NFL Picks plays New York Giants and New Orleans Saints over 51 points.

NFL picks will play on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 points against the San Francisco 49ers from Sunday action.
This NFL pro football game will begin from San Francisco at 4PM Eastern Time with FOX providing the television telecast.

Tampa Bay has the more dynamic offense with quarterback Josh Freeman and running back LeGarrette Blount as the grinding running back.
The 49ers defense was torched by Philadelphia last week for 513 offensive yards with 405 yards coming via the air.
It was a lucky win last week by San Francisco as it took two chip shot field goal misses by Philadelphia as well as a Ronnie Brown fumble near the goal line.
Dallas was able to pound this 49ers pass defense for 427 yards through the air at Candlestick Park in week two.
Last year Tampa Bay traveled to San Francisco and shut them out 21-0. The 49ers offense had just 189 offensive yards in defeat.
Josh Freeman has a big day and the Buccaneers are the right side in this game.
NFL picks plays Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 points.

NFL picks will is making a play on the New York Jets -3 points against the Oakland Raiders from Sunday pro football.
This NFL game involving AFC conference teams will begin from Oakland at 4PM Eastern Time and CBS provides the live national television telecast.

The Buffalo Bills were able to make the halftime adjustments to expose this porous Raiders defense last week as they totaled 35 points in the second half to rally for the win.
The Buffalo tape is out for everyone to see and look for the Jets to expose Oakland with their offensive line opening up holes for Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson.
L.T. has historically ran well against the Raiders defense dating back to his days with the San Diego Chargers.
With the Jets running successfully it will open up holes for Mark Sanchez to go vertical against the Raiders secondary for big plays.
The Jets defense has been solid this season as they have shut teams down in the running game this season.
Oakland will not be able to match New York on the scoreboard in this spot.
NFL picks plays New York Jets -3 points.

NFL picks will select the San Diego Chargers +7 points against the New England Patriots from Sunday pro football play in week two.
This NFL pro football game between the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots will begin from San Diego at 4:15PM Eastern Time and CBS provides the live regional television coverage.

Seems like a pretty inflated line to give 7 points to Phillip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers behind a pretty healthy offensive team after week one.
I understand the love for offense from the general public and Tom Brady was impressive.
But he put those numbers up against an out of shape and poorly conditioned Miami Dolphins team that wore out as the game wore on.
The Chargers defense looked very good a week ago limiting Donovan McNabb and the Minnesota Vikings to just 28 passing yards with only 10 points generated by their offense.
New England’s defense was ripped apart last week by Chad Henne and the Miami offense for 488 yards with 390 yards coming via the air.
Give me the Chargers defense coupled on offense with Phillip Rivers and his playmakers on offense getting seven points in this game.
NFL picks plays San Diego Chargers +7 points.

NFL picks is going to play on the Arizona Cardinals -6 ½ points against the Carolina Panthers from opening week one action from pro football.
They begin this NFL pro football game from Arizona at 4:15PM Eastern Time and FOX provides a live regional television broadcast.

Tough spot for the rookie head coach Ron Rivera starting rookie quarterback Cam Newton in week one following a shortened training camp due to the NFL lock out.
And to make matters worse you open up on the road.
That’s the situation today for the Carolina Panthers in their game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Carolina has been struggling offensively this preseason with Cam Newton under center.
He is having a difficult time reading opposing defenses so look for the Cardinals to stack the line to take away the run option from the Panthers.
Kevin Kolb is a big upgrade for the Cardinals offense and he has quality receivers including all pro Larry Fitzgerald to get the ball too.
With Carolina facing several short drives its means the Panthers defense is exposed as the unit will be on the field a long time allowing for an Arizona cover of this point spread.
NFL picks plays Arizona Cardinals -6½ points.

Under head coach Mike Tomlin the Pittsburgh Steelers in all 6 post season games have played to an over the total.
Mike Tomlin coached Pittsburgh Steelers teams are outstanding against the run so his opponents have no choice but to become pass heavy with their game plans.
I expect both clubs to spread out each opposing defense with wide formations and to look for mismatches in pass coverage as opposing linebackers could be forced off the line of scrimmage.
With both teams giving heavy respect to opposing run defenses this will create a high volume of passes which will create much more possessions and leading us to cashing an over ticket in the Super Bowl.
NFL picks plays Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers over 44 ½ points.

The Pittsburgh Steelers young wide receivers have developed nicely behind Emmanuel Sanders, Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown.
Tight end Heath Miller missed the regular season meeting between these clubs and came up big with five catches and a touchdown reception last week.
The Steelers put on a tremendous defensive effort last week against Baltimore by surrendering just 126 yards to the Ravens offense and stuffed the run game.
We saw a gun slinger in Jay Cutler get the ball over the Jets secondary in the Bears victory against the Jets. Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has the arm strength to go deep on this Jets secondary to the likes of Mike Wallace and company.
New York has not pressured quarterbacks this season and Roethlisberger has a stronger arm than Tom Brady and can air it deep.
The Steelers experience in big games will carry Pittsburgh to the Super Bowl.
NFL picks plays Pittsburgh Steelers on the money line -195 odds.
